Young Associates has extensive experience of freshwater ecological work and our staff have particular expertise in: fisheries, invertebrate communities, water quality, hydrology and habitat requirements.

Many of our freshwater contracts relate to the assessmnet and audit of developments such as: hydroelectric schemes, transportation and cable/pipeline laying operations. This work is underpinned by comprehensive survey capabilities and we have a range of equipment including: electric fishing apparatus, water quality loggers, boats and nets. We also have a fully equipped laboratory designed for processing and identifying invertebrates.

We also have a thorough knowledge of pollution legislation and its application. We have produced several pollution control plans and provided advice on pollution control during construction works.
