Marine and Estuarine Projects

 

Young Associates has comprehensive expertise and experience in marine ecology survey and assessment work. For example we have produced Environmnetal Statements and Appropriate Assessments for several coastal developments including: a dock development in the Dee Estuary SPA/SSSI; a marine lake proposal near the Mersey Estuary SPA and two proposed coastal defence proposals within the Morecambe Bay cSAC/SPA/SSSI.

In each case these assesments were supported by in-house field survey programes and our survey capabilities also have been applied for audits (e.g an IPC authorisation of a CCGT power station) or for specific monitoirng programmes (e.g the Environment Agency Statutory Programme for the Eastern Wash). We have also undertaken reviews of literature for specifcic R&D invetsigations such as a study of the impacts arising from causeway developments.
